For optimal levels of safety and protection, our Amp-Trap 2000 A4BQ fuses are the best choice for applications over 600 amperes. They provide:
Best degree of arc energy mitigation. Lower current-limiting thresholds and let-thru energies are the key features of the A4BQ line. When applied properly for expected arc fault currents, incident energies at working distances of 18" can be reduced to category 0 PPE levels for fuses up to 1600A. For proper application of larger A4BQ ampere ratings, consult technical services.
Easier system coordination. When you combine A4BQ fuses with other Amp-Trap 2000 fuses, such as the AJT Class J or A6D Class RK1, you can ensure a fully coordinated system by sizing upstream fuses at only twice the ampere rating.
Easy to downsize the ampere rating. Feeder fuses often have larger ampere ratings than are needed. Downsizing should be considered when it would lead to substantial energy reduction.
Reliable performance. Nuisance openings can expose workers to energized components. The A4BQ's time-delay feature (for overloads) and short circuit design allow for temporary low-level overcurrents like motor starting currents and inrushes without opening.
